“Traditionally we were almost a 90% commercial company. While we did residential work, it was pretty much referral. About a year and a half ago, we decided that we were going to invest and we were going to jump into this residential market,” says Chip Sr. There’s been an incredible response.
What sets Shiver apart from other security companies is their local central monitoring station. Shiver’s team monitors security at homes and businesses 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in a new, state-of-the-art facility located just up the road in Miamisburg.
Chip Jr. says, “We’re one of the only ones left that actually do monitoring locally.” Most bigger security businesses have moved to a regional setting, extending further away from the people they are paid to protect.
