Try This At Home

With crisp fall weather comes an opportunity to sit by the fire with family, enjoy a meal on the patio with friends or watch a football game with a cold one. Wherever your fall activities lead you, these cocktails from around town are sure to add a delicious splash to any meal or gathering.

Caramel Apple-Tini

Ingredients:

3/4 oz. of apple pucker

1 ½ oz. of RumChata

3/4 oz. of caramel vodka

Caramel sauce

Apple (sliced)

Equipment:

Martini glass

Shaker

Strainer

Directions:

  1. Lightly coat half of the rim of the martini glass with caramel
  2. Add a full scoop of ice to the shaker
  3. Pour in apple pucker, RumChata and caramel vodka in listed quantities in the shaker
  4. Shake vigorously
  5. Strain contents into the prepared martini glass
  6. Slice a sliver of apple and garnish the caramel side of the rim

Moscow Mule

Ingredients:

1 ½ oz. Tito’s Vodka

1/2 oz. freshly-squeezed lime juice

4 oz. Gosling’s Ginger Beer

Ice cubes

1 lime wheel for garnish

Equipment:

Copper mug

Directions:

  1. Fill a copper mug with ice
  2. Build ingredients over ice: Tito’s Vodka, then fresh squeezed lime juice, then Gosling’s Ginger Beer
  3. Garnish with lime wheel floated on top

Apple Cider Sangria

Ingredients:

1 bottle (standard size) of Pinot Grigio

2 ½ cups fresh apple cider

1 cup club soda

1/2 cup ginger brandy

3 honey crisp apples, chopped

3 pears, chopped

Equipment:

Pitcher

Wine glass

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients together in a pitcher and stir
  2. Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving
  3. Serve over light ice

New Mexican Martini

Ingredients:

2 oz. Green Chile infused El Jimador tequila

1 oz. Cointreau

1 ½ oz. fresh lime juice

1 ½ oz. sugar water

Lime wedge

Two jalapeno-stuffed 
olives with a sword pick

Equipment:

Salted martini glass

Shaker

Directions:

  1. Fill shaker with ice
  2. Combine all ingredients in shaker 
and shake vigorously
  3. Pour into martini glass and finish with garnish

Prickly Pear Margarita

Ingredients:

1 ½ oz. Sauza Gold Tequila

1 oz. Cointreau

1 ½ oz. fresh lime juice

1 oz. Monin Desert Pear Syrup

1 lime wedge

Kosher salt to rim the glass

Equipment:

Shaker

Salt-rimmed margarita glass

Directions:

  1. Measure all ingredients together in a shaker glass with ice
  2. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds
  3. Rim glass with salt, garnish with lime wedge, 
and fill with ice
  4. Strain shaker into glass and serve
