Fall is the unofficial “gala season” for our region, with an event for a different charity almost every weekend. Each festive affair is a major fundraiser for a worthwhile beneficiary and a great opportunity for a special night out with members of our community. Many of these parties request specific attire, whether it’s black-tie formal or corresponds to a unique theme. This year’s annual fashion issue is focused on helping you find the perfect look for your next big event.
The most glamorous of these fall fundraisers is the annual Key Event, hosted by the Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty. Inside we offer a sneak peek at what two local philanthropists will be wearing to this highly anticipated celebration.
For our annual fall fashion photo shoot, we used art as our inspiration. We worked with stylists from three local boutiques to find looks inspired by paintings and sculptures to transform our model into a walking work of art. West Chester resident Alison Shiver stepped out of her comfort zone and in front of the camera to don these looks. The Fitton Center for Creative Arts in Hamilton served as the perfect backdrop to showcase these art-inspired fashions.
Perhaps some of the most dazzling dresses can be seen at pageants. This month, see what a day at a pageant is like when we meet West Chester resident, Kelsey Retz. Liberty Township resident and Symmetry Boutique owner Sherry Armstead gives us tips on three items that are essential for every wardrobe. We also offer some tips for creating a chic cocktail presentation.
Whether you have a passion for fashion or feel your best in a t-shirt and jeans, this year’s fashion issue will help you put your best foot forward.
