I love to travel! I try to plan a little trip every other month so I can get out and explore new places. But once I had kids, I implemented a strict policy of staying put and enjoying the holidays at home. There is something special about waking up in our own beds on Christmas morning and making our own holiday traditions right here in our town.

This month we explore many of the fabulous ways you too can enjoy staying home for the holidays. We found six great area activities that are sure to get you in the holiday spirit—some new and some that have been around for generations. Our calendar is filled with even more ideas for how you can enjoy local wintertime events.

Are you looking for the perfect gift to give? Later this month, MidPointe Library will be opening a brand new makerspace. We share a sneak peek at this innovative new spot coming to West Chester and show how it can be used to make gifts this season and in the New Year.

If you’ll be hosting a party this month, we have some features to help you too. Inside we show three delicious punch recipes and some ideas for how to make a winter floral arrangement.

We also want to turn our thoughts to families that don’t have a place to call home. Family Promise of Butler County provides valuable services to keep homeless families together, warm and safe while helping them get back on their feet. Learn more about this great organization and how you can help on page x.

This December, we hope you take the time to enjoy the many treasures right here in our area. Whether you’re traveling or staying home for the holidays, we hope you enjoy this special season.

Happy Holidays!
